ABOUT ME

About Me: I am 64 years old and recently retired from the Education field. I have lived in Central Illinois most of my life (born and raised) but have left the state a few times only to come back home. I don’t know why I can’t stay away from Central Illinois. I hate the winters here!

I have always loved to write; It is one of my passions. I have written two children's books, both on Kindle. My dream was to write a series of books, all with the same main character; but life got busy, and I haven’t had the chance to complete any more. Perhaps now that can happen.

Another passion of mine? Singing. I’ve been a singer since I was three, and have performed in several venues – Church, weddings, funerals, retirement homes, family parties - none of which made me much money, but they sure brought me a lot of joy. Singing makes me happy. I don’t sing as much now; my voice gets shakier the older I get. Church is my usual setting now, and it’s the most important one as far as I’m concerned. I also sing in the car, however, as loudly as I want!!

I retired from Parkland College in December 2021 and continue to home school my two youngest grandchildren while I look for another form of employment. I love to write and create craft items, so I'm trying my hand at those as a source of income. I love to travel and dream of traveling across country on the train someday. I would like to meet people everywhere I go who have met with and conquered adversity in their lives. I think those are the best kinds of stories to write about; I want to be a part of that adventure.
